The Makeup – Something for the new and older members

One of the many benefits of Rotary Club membership is the luxury of being able to travel the world and never miss a weekly meeting. Club members are welcome and encouraged to visit clubs [click on the link] while traveling to make-up the meeting missed back home or check www.rotary.org.

But Rotarians often ask what options exist if there is not a club in the area of travel, the day or time they need, or if the member is home but an emergency causes him or her to miss a meeting.

One option is to attend a regular meeting of a nearby club, e.g. Wisconsin Rapids, Marshfield, StePt morning, Waupaca – where ever. Or, it could be our Rotaract [UWSP] or Interact [Pacelli] club. According to Article VIII, Section 1a of the Standard Rotary Club Constitution, attending one of these meetings counts as a make-up. Click

·
Other options – attend a club board meeting; participate in one of our projects, e.g. highway cleanup, Green Circle maintenance, YMCA/Lactic Edge marathon, River Front Rendezvous’, etc. Just sign-in so the secretary knows.

·
A rather new option utilizing internet technology – spend 30 minutes participating in an interactive activity on a Rotary e-club Web site.

Rotary International has approved the request nearly 30 clubs from around the world which have a virtual or electronic location. A visit to one of these e-clubs may satisfy a club member’s make-up requirement. Complete the attendance form, print and give to our Secretary. For eClub Project approved sites click on
